jtdx_improved

Description

jtdx_improved is an enhanced version of JTDX by Igor Chernikov et al. (https://sourceforge.net/projects/jtdx/). Both my and Igor's forks are based on the excellent WSJT-X software by Joe Taylor K1JT, Steve Franke K9AN, Bill Somerville G4WJS and others (https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/). After the succes of my wsjt-x_improved project I thought it was time to implement some of its enhancements now also to JTDX …

wsjt-x_improved jtdx_improved dark style jtdx_improved with JTDX GUI

jtdx_improved is available with two different GUI layouts: My 'improved' layout which is similar to the wsjt-x_improved AL version, and JTDX's standard GUI. For technical reasons, each version has its own installer.

Dark Style is available for all versions and can be turned on and off from the program.

There are versions for Windows, Linux, and for the Raspberry Pi available.

Troubleshooting

If anything is not working as expected, first check your hardware as well as your software settings. This includes:

  • Read the User Guide carefully. What is described there for the original JTDX is also valid for jtdx_improved.
  • Ensure you have a stable connection to your rig (USB cables, audio cables, possible RFI).
  • Check if the settings at File | Settings | Radio are correct (Rig, Serial Port, Baud Rate, PTT Method, and so on).
  • Don't forget to enable Split Operation. The preferred method is Fake it.

In some rare cases, the hamlib rig driver may not properly work with your rig. Try to select a similar rig model and see if it works better, or use OmniRig instead. OmniRig has its own rig drivers, however, it is only available on Windows.
